The Night Lashaya Went Missing
Sixteen-year-old Lashaya Stine vanished from Aurora, Colorado, on July 15, 2016. She left her home around 2:00 a.m. without taking extra clothes or her wallet. Surveillance footage from that night captured her walking alone near East Montview Boulevard and North Peoria Street—the last known sighting of her.

A Promising Future Cut Short
Lashaya was a bright and ambitious young woman, a straight-A student at George Washington High School. She was actively planning for her future, learning to drive, applying to colleges, preparing for an internship, and eagerly anticipating prom. She also had a job interview scheduled at Firehouse Subs for July 16, which she never attended.
The Investigation and Search Efforts
Her mother, Sabrina Jones, believes Lashaya may have been heading to meet a boy who was a bad influence. In the years since her disappearance, credible tips have been scarce, though one report suggested she was spotted at a hotel on East Colfax Avenue. Authorities, including the FBI and the Aurora Police Department, have made multiple public appeals for information. In one search effort, they investigated a vacant home on the 2200 block of Lansing Street, but the search did not lead to Lashaya’s recovery.

Trafficking Fears and Unanswered Questions
Sabrina strongly suspects her daughter was trafficked out of Colorado, a fear that has only grown as the years pass without answers. Lashaya remains listed as a missing person on the FBI’s website under the Kidnappings/Missing Persons section.
